Tera Naal Love Ho Gaya (TNLHG) was originally scheduled to release yesterday but has been pushed forward by a week. It is now scheduled for a February 24 release. The rescheduling of TNLHG is not going to help the movie much since this week (February 17) does not have any strong release and hence would have picked up some audience for the film. Since, Jodi Breakers is slated to release on February 24, TNLHG will now have to split its audience with it. Jodi Breakers and TNLHG have almost the same FT numbers but Jodi Breakers has an edge.

Let us look at TNLHG and Jodi Breakers in some detail. The FT numbers show that TNLHG has a high Aided Recall (54. 4 per cent) but a low Spontaneous Awarenss (1. 8 per cent). Whereas Jodi Breakers, even though has an average Aided Recall (26. 5 per cent) has a substantially higher Spontaneous Recall (5. 4 per cent). On the ratio of SA/AR Jodi Breakers has a clear advantage. And when we look at DPS and DPSOWE, there is not much to choose between the two but on the ratio of DPSOWE/DPS, Jodi Breakers has an edge. Hence Jodi Breakers is expected to do better than TNLHG.

We have already discussed the expected audience profile and drivers of TNLHG in this column last week. The movie has no strong drivers except Genelia D'Souza. However, Jodi Breakers is on a stronger footing. The drivers of the movie are, Madhavan, Bipasha Basu and the story. Also it has a clear perceived genre. With the FT numbers as of date boths films hould do as expected by the trade.

Compared to the last week both movies have seen a drop in their FT numbers. This is primarily because of EMAET's strong presence in media post its release. Hence, this week is quite crucial to both these movies and they will need to give one last push in the mass media and get the SA and DPSOWE up by another 5-10 points to make a reasonable impact on the box-office.

Rattehalli Nagendra Rao Krishna Prasad – RNK Prasad died on Wednesday in Appolo Hospital in Chennai dies after heart attack. He leaves behind wife Usha Prasad, daughter Rathnamala and son Rajiv Prasad.

With the departure of RNK Prasad the Kannada film industry and South Indian cinema industry in general lost a high profile cameraman. The book written by RNK Prasad is a subject for study in Universities on cinematography. RNK Prasad starting as cameraman later directed Kannada films, acted in Tamil television serials and built up vast admirers.

Winner of Lifetime Achievement award RNK Prasad, second son of R Nagendra Rao made a beginning from 'Premada Puthri' as cameraman. His works in Bellimoda, Mareyadha Haadu, Naguva Hoovu were fantastic in the past.

The cremation of RNK Prasad is taking place today at Chennai and his son Rajiv Prasad director of Kannada film 'Gautham' is conducting the final rites.

In last year May RNK Prasad was felicitated by state award winner KM Vishnuvardhana with other colleagues like GS Bhasker, BS Basavaraj and other colleagues taking part in it. He unveiled the portrait of founder of Karnataka Cinematographers Association DV Rajaram and recalled his long association with ancient cameras. RNK Prasad remembered how the camera was very essential and how he worked without looking at the fame and money.

While confirmation of Deepika Padukone starring in Rajinikanth's film Kochadaiyaan makes headlines, the second poster of the film has finally been released. Tamil superstar Rajinikanth will return with Kochadaiyaan, which will be the directorial debut of his daughter Soundarya Ashwin Rajinikanth

Deepika Padukone, who will be playing the lead opposite Rajini in the film, was also roped in to star opposite him in Rana, but the film has been put on hold owing to Rajini's ill health. She apparently turned down a role in Race 2 for this film, much to the anger of the producers.

Kochadaiyaan will be a hi-tech 3D film and will be the first with performance capturing technology to be produced in India. James Cameron's mega hit Avatar and Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin were made with the same technology.

KS Ravikumar has written the story, screenplay and dialogue. He will also be the directorial supervisor for Kochadaiyyan.

The film is being co-produced by Eros International and Mediaone Global Entertainment Limited. The work is progressing at a fast pace and the is scheduled for release in August 2012.

In May, the 60-year-old Rajnikanth developed health problems and was flown to Singapore for treatment. Due to his illnes, his Rana was stalled and the matinee idol is expected to shoot for KS Ravikumar's film after finishing Kochadaiyaan.

Rana is also being produced by his daughter Soundarya's production company Ochre Studios.

The first look poster of the film saw Rajinikanth sporting a muscular look.
